If you’re looking for the best Indian food in San Diego, then you need to head to this restaurant. Curryosity is located in one of San Diego’s popular neighborhoods, South Park. South Park neighborhood is packed with diverse restaurants.
Curryosity is the best Indian restaurant to go to in San Diego. We loved the indoor theme and the dessert was the best one we had in San Diego!

The downside of its popularity is that there was a long wait of 20-25 minutes, so we do recommend reserving a spot in person. We were okay with a bar table; otherwise, the wait would have been longer.
Is Curryosity worth visiting?
Curryosity is definitely worth a visit!
The restaurant is led by Chef Raj Mutti from Punjab, India, who brings his culinary expertise from Los Angeles. At Curryosity, they pride themselves on using the best ingredients to create high-quality dishes.

When we visited, we shared a Saag curry, which is a puree of spinach, ginger, garlic, onions, green chili, and cumin served with rice. We also had Chicken Tikka, skewered boneless chicken marinated in house-made Masala sauce with rice and mint chutney.
For dessert, we tried the Chocomosa, 2 chocolate turnovers served with pistachio ice cream. The Chocomosa was the highlight and the best innovative dessert I’ve ever had!

Curryosity also offers catering for a whole range of events in the San Diego area.
They have options like party platters right through to full-service catering for large-scale events. They even provide a transportable Tandoori oven with a chef to bake fresh naan on-site!
Curryosity’s menu
Curryosity’s menu is packed with plenty of delicious options.
Currently, there’s no separate lunch menu, so you get the same great choices for both lunch and dinner.
If you’re after a light bite for lunch, then order from the snacks menu. Popular choices are Bhel Puri, Shrimp Pakora, and a Chutney Sampler, along with their famous homemade samosas.
They also have share plates. Popular picks include Dynamite Wings marinated in yogurt and spices, Curryosity Mussels cooked in spiced coconut curry, and the tasty Curry Fries.

Happy Hour is from 3 pm to 5 pm daily, featuring $5 cocktails, selected beers, and wine. During these hours you can also order Curry Wings for $8 and appetizers for $5.
Their cocktail menu includes Monsoon Mojito, Mango Spiced, Tantric Yoga, and Imli Temptations, all beautifully presented and made with fresh ingredients.
Also – don’t forget to try their free Poppadum offer—if you make an Indian dance move, you get a free poppadum!
For mains, you’ll find a wide selection of curries with different sauces like Masala, Vindaloo, Nirvana, and Saag.
You can choose your protein: Chicken, Paneer, Veggie, Tofu, or Shrimp. The Tandoori options, like Chicken Tikka, Rack of Lamb, Tandoori Shrimp, and Tandoori Chicken, are also a hit. Don’t forget their freshly made Naan bread to go with your main.
For dessert, try the Chocomosa, which we loved, or go for the traditional Gulab Jamun – an Indian doughnut, or pistachio ice cream.

Curryosity’s reviews
“The food and drinks were just as impressively good. We happened to be there during happy hour, so we took advantage of the $5 prices. I definitely recommend this place! I will be back to try the rest of the menu.” – Cristina Sapien
“Amazing food, decor and vibe. We ordered butter chicken medium spicy with naan. It was yum. Naan was freshly made. Also, they made us the custom drink Nimbu Pani with Vodka.” – Nupur
